Sheryl has been practicing yoga and meditation for over 15 years. A dancer since age 4, she has always felt deeply in tune with her internal experience of movement, energy, and emotion. After being introduced to Tibetan Buddhist teachings during college, meditation, awareness training, and yoga, became the foundation of a lifelong practice that is ever-evolving and essential to her well-being. Sheryl became interested in sound healing after experiencing her own profound energy shift after a sound bath during a difficult time, and began incorporating sound healing/meditation in her own practice and offerings. Outside of teaching, Sheryl is a Career Counselor working with college students at universities and holds a Masters of Education from Seattle University. She loves sharing her love of these contemplative practices that support us in engaging in our lives more fully.
Sheryl keeps it simple in her classes. You can expect to slow down, move in a gentle and mindful way, and restore some energy. The hope is that you leave class feeling more embodied, more like yourself, and having learned something you can take with you off your mat.
In 2015 Sheryl completed her first teacher training at Back Bay Yoga with Lynne Begier, Ryan Cunningham and Caitlyn Visconte, and has been teaching ever since. She also has been trained in restorative yoga by Nicole Clark and Kate Robinson, and continues to be influenced by, and study with, these teachers. Sheryl has training in trauma-informed teaching and has taught in corporate settings, gyms, yoga studios, and correctional centers. In 2023 she began training in sound healing through Chiang Mai Holistic Wellness Center and the Soul of Yoga Sound Institute.
